Account Deletion

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU 2016/679) and the requirements of app distribution platforms (including Google Play and the Apple App Store), Prép Médecine allows any user to delete their account and associated data.
For details about data categories and retention periods, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
1. Delete your account directly in the app
Account deletion is available directly in the app, with no requirement to contact support:
Home → avatar icon (top-right) → Profile → Settings (⚙️, top-right) → Delete my account
Once deletion is confirmed:
- Your profile and educational usage data (progress, results, XP, levels, badges, statistics) are deleted from our servers;
- Your authentication account (Firebase identifier / UID) is deleted, making reuse of the account impossible;
- Any Premium access associated with the account is no longer applicable once the account is deleted. Subscriptions remain managed by the Apple App Store / Google Play and must be cancelled via your Apple ID / Google Play account if needed.
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Note: deleting your Prép Médecine account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased via the Apple App Store / Google Play. The subscription may continue to renew until it is cancelled through the purchase platforms (Apple ID / Google Play).
2. Deletion request without access to the app
If you no longer have access to your account or to the app, you may request deletion by email: support@prepmedecine.be
Please include:
- The email address used for the account;
- Your in-app display name (if known);
- Any helpful information to confirm identity or account ownership (to prevent fraudulent deletion).
A response is provided within one month (30 days). This period may be extended for complex requests or high request volume, as permitted by GDPR.
3. Data retained after deletion (legal and security obligations)
After account deletion, Prép Médecine retains only what is strictly necessary:
- Legal / accounting obligations: where applicable, minimal records may be retained for at least 7 years when required by law (e.g. accounting compliance). Payment and billing information is handled by the Apple App Store and/or Google Play depending on the purchase platform.
- Security / diagnostics: limited technical logs and diagnostic data (e.g. incidents, security) may remain for a limited time, in accordance with the Privacy Policy, to ensure service security and stability.
- Support: if deletion is requested by email, support communications may be retained for a limited time to follow up the request and handle potential disputes.
